Seafood Dishes

Sri Lankan cuisine is well known for its seafood, as it is a land of plenty and surrounded by the sea. I was in Sri Lanka on holiday not so long ago. We saw crowds of people near the beach, waiting for the boats to return after a long night of fishing. It was such a beautiful sight to see. The fishermen returning in their boats after a good catch of the day and the helpers pulling the large ropes and nets to bring the fish to the shore. The fishmongers setup their stalls along the beach and people purchased the catch of the day. I wish I had a kitchen to cook the fresh fish right on the beach!
