Meat Dishes

Meat such as goat, chicken, beef and pork are plentiful and available at the markets and the on way side stalls in Sri Lanka. When I was growing up in Sri Lanka they did not breed sheep or import its meat, so lamb was not common. There are a variety of foods eaten across Sri Lanka. The Eastern and Southern parts of Sri Lanka were known for their meat curries and Koththu Roti. In the Central parts of Sri Lanka (hill country) seafood was scarce, so most of the households ate meat.
